A few months ago we featured a potato stamp art project that we used as a custom wall art in one of our peanuts rooms. We have had so many requests to do some more wall art projects so today we are sharing a simple + darling watercolor art project for your peanuts to participate in! This project is perfect because it’s easy for peanuts of all ages and you can also frame or hang these prints after your craft session!
We are so excited to announce that we will be doing more art projects for your little’s room and guest posting on one of our favorite blogs, Mom’s Best Network! They just recently launched a new section on their site called Destination Nursery that will be featuring everything and anything related to kid’s rooms and spaces. They will also be giving away a dream nursery every month so make sure to head over to Destination Nursery for more info on how to enter!
WHAT YOU NEED:
– Kid style watercolor paint
– Paint Brushes
– Rubber Cement
– Watercolor paper
Paint shapes, letters and words on the watercolor paper using the rubber cement. This creates a barrier from the watercolor paint and will block the color from touching the paper. For words and more detailed designs use a smaller paint brush. Let the rubber cement dry for about 5-10 minutes and then you can let your little peanuts start painting with the watercolor of choice! You will see that the paint doesn’t stick to the rubber cement.
TIP: The thicker you put the rubber cement on the better it will block the color.
After your little peanuts are done painting let it dry for another 5-10 minutes. Once it’s dry then all you have to do is rub off the rubber cement with your finger. This will make the white paper show through and create a custom watercolor print!
And there you have it! So simple + fun for the little peanuts! Use colors that match your little’s rooms or playrooms so you can hang them or frame them after. There is nothing we love more then seeing our little peanuts masterpieces on the wall! Now go give it a try for your self!
