Summer BBQ Drinks

A couple of weeks ago we shared a fun + healthy fruit popsicle recipe and today we are sharing some great summer drink recipes that are oh so refreshing and perfect for your summer holiday parties and BBQs! They are so delicious your little peanuts will love them as much as you do! You don’t have to do a fancy drink to impress your guests… it just comes down to presentation! You can easily spice up your summer drinks for your BBQ guests by using fun + unique glasses like mason jars or milk glasses. We found a bunch of great glass options at our local Ikea that are perfect for entertaining and also super affordable! Top off your drink with a colorful striped straw and your friends will think you are the hostess with the mostess for sure! You can find tons of great drink containers, party essentials and striped straws from our favorite online store, Shop Sweet Lulu.

Here are a few simple + yummy recipes that are a MUST to tryout this summer!

The classic ever so popular orange dreamsicle in a drinkable smoothie just screams summer with ever sip! The orange + cream is perfection and add a little orange slice garnish for an extra zing of citrus!

DIRECTIONS:
– 1 can orange juice concentrate, slightly thawed {try mango orange for extra flavor}
– 1 cup milk
– 1 cup sugar
– ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 cups ice

Combine all ingredients, except ice, in a large blender or mixer and blend until smooth and creamy, taking care the sugar has dissolved and is well incorporated.  If desired, add a splash more water or more milk.  Add the ice and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Makes approximately three eight-ounce portions.

Everyone has tried an Italian cream soda at their favorite Italian restaurant, but you might not know how super easy they are to make! We were surprised out how simple they are to make + what a hit they are at a party. The little kiddos absolutely love these fizzy drinks too! You can even make an Italian cream soda bar for your guests to make their own flavored combinations!

DIRECTIONS:
– Ice cubes
– Flavored Syrup {we love Torani} You can find flavored syrups at most major food stores in the coffee aisle
– Mineral water or soda water
– Cherry & lime garnish

Fill your glass up with ice cubes and 2 tablespoons of flavored syrup {or to taste} then add mineral water to fill the glass. Top it off with whipped cream, fruit garnish and a straw! Have fun mixing different flavors and enjoy!

It doesn’t get more refreshing them lemonade and the combination of strawberries + watermelon will for sure quench your thirst this summer! We can’t get enough lemonade in our life and it’s our go to drink to order at restaurants. This recipe is perfect for when you have left over watermelon that you don’t want to waist.  This “fancy” lemonade would be perfect to serve at your 4th of July BBQ!

DIRECTIONS:

– 8 cups cubed seedless watermelon

– 1 cup strawberries, halved

– ½ cup fresh lemon juice

– 1 cup sugar

– 2 cups water or Sprite {we love it with Sprite!}

Combine all the ingredients in a blender or mixer and blend until smooth {you may have to do it in 2 batches!}
