Cranberry + Cinnamon Stove Top Potpourri

A couple weeks ago we were invited by Trolley Square Mall  + Rodizio Grill to join them for a night out of dinner and shopping and of course we can’t pass up an adult night out! Trolley Square is by far our favorite mall to attend during the holiday season because it’s so festive and also carries some of our favorite stores! If you are local to Utah you have to stop by sometime this month to check out the amazing Santa set-up! No cheesiness going on there! A real legit Santa and a great setting for a picture opt!

We’ve had our eye on a Staub Pan (currently on sale + an mazing price!) at Williams Sonoma and this was the perfect time to pick ourselves up a little early Christmas gift! And we knew exactly what we wanted to cook in our new pan! Every year we’ve always wanted to try our hand at homemade stove top potpourri so that’s exactly what we did over the snowy weekend here in Utah! The Staub Universal Pan‘s innovative enamel coating takes cast-iron cooking to the next level! It’s great for frying, sautéing and searing as well as braising and slow simmering.

Who needs a Christmas candle when you easily make the real deal that smells unbelievable?! A Christmas cottage in your house all day! Get the quick directions below!

The great thing about doing homemade Christmas potpourri is that you really can’t mess it up and can use whatever you have at home! Here is what we love to use:

  • back or two of fresh cranberries (depending on pot size)
  • 2-3 oranges slices
  • cinnamon sticks
  • vanilla beans
  • mulling spices (you can also add some allspice + cloves)
  • rosemary sprigs or small pine branches

Fill the pot with water and bring to a boil. Let the juices bubble for a few minutes. Then set to simmer and you can leave on the stove all day! Just add more water as needed! ENJOY!!
