Easy Homemade Heart Pizzas for Valentines Day

With tomorrow being Valentine’s Day everyone is getting their Valentines put together and figuring out their holiday plans. Let’s face it… if you have little peanuts you don’t always get to have a romantic night out with your man and sometimes staying home with your family and doing some fun activities is just the ticket!

Today we have the perfect meal you can make with your family for Valentine’s Day! These mini heart pizzas are oh so cute and perfect for love day, but the best part is that they are even more fun to make! Set up a pizza station and let each member of your family make their own heart shaped pizza! It really is so easy and of course yummy!

For you busy mamas and for an even easier meal you can use the pre-made pizza dough found at your local store which is usually found by the crescent rolls and cookie dough. If you are wanting to make your own dough from scratch, our friend Jenny Evans with Jenny Evans Gatherings has a fabulous + easy recipe for homemade dough and pizza sauce HERE!

– Pizza dough
– Pizza sauce
– Mozzarella cheese
– Fresh basil
– Pepperonis
– Any other favorite pizza toppings

Pre-heat your oven to the recommended degree on your pre-made dough package or your favorite homemade dough recipe. Roll your dough out flat on a flat surface. We used a large heart shaped cookie cutter to help create a good shape. Lightly push down the cookie cutter so make a slight heart outline. Using a knife cut around the heart leaving about a 1″ boarder from the outline to make the crust. Once cut out roll over the edges of the dough to make the crust and form the heart shape. Place mini heart pizza crusts on a cookie sheet and place in the oven. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until dough is baked and edges have turned golden brown.

Take the heart crusts out of the oven and let them cool off for a minute. Now the fun part really begins! ┬áSet out all of the toppings in a buffet style and let your family have fun designing their very own pizza with their favorite toppings! Once the pizzas are decorated put them back in the oven for about 2-5 minutes until cheese is melted. Take them out and serve!! We are thinking homemade pizza night once a week… how about you?!

We hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day spending time with the people you love! We know we are sure looking forward to it… but a little sad to see all of the heart stuff go away! We would love to know what your family plans are for V-Day and if you try out these mini heart pizzas, what your family thinks!
