Fall is in the air and we couldn’t be more excited! We love this season and we’ve been spending a lot of time in the crisp air at our local pumpkin patches. There is something about pumpkins that have got us mesmerized and every year we become obsessed with new + fun ways to decorate them and display them around our house. With having little kids we are always trying to come up with great no-carve options that are perfect for little ones to help with.
Last week we shared one of our all time favorite ways to decorate pumpkins over on Pottery Barn Kids Blog and today we are sharing here on LP because it’s just so good! Melted crayon pumpkins are great because the entire process is also a fun + entertaining activity for your kids to do and your finished product is super cool, not to mention spooky looking pumpkin! We know your kiddos (and you) will love doing this fun experiment as much as we do just in time for Halloween this weekend!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Real Pumpkins
- Tacky Blue
- Blow Dryer
- Plastic tarp (optional)
- Unwrap crayon colors of choice
- Cut the crayons in half
- Glue crayon pieces using tacky glue to the pumpkin
- Let glue dry
- Use a blow dryer to melt the crayons
- You will want to do this on a plastic tarp or outside because there will be a bit of wax splattering from the blow dryer.
