This time of year is my favorite time of year because the holidays help us to remember what life is all about and bring families closer together. This time of year is also the hardest for me because my thoughts continually turn to my brother, Bryan, who passed away 6 years ago. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of him and wish he was still here with us. When I was pregnant with my first son I remember feeling nervous and unsure, not knowing what to expect, as I’m sure every mom can relate to during their first pregnancy. As time went on I felt peace and a calmness take over and I knew that everything would be just fine. I knew Bryan was watching over us and was taking care of my sweet boy until it was time for him to come into our life. I could feel him and I knew he was my angel.
Bryan Beckham Bailey was born on May 1, 2010 and was the most beautiful healthy baby boy who I instantly fell in love with. I couldn’t be more blessed to have him in my life and to be his mom. After losing someone so close to me I have truly realized what life is all about and that is family. There is nothing more important then my family and I know how precious life can be. That it can be taken away in a second. By experiencing something like this I think it has helped me to be a better person and a better mother. To be more patient and understanding and to realize the small stresses in life don’t matter. That I can make it through the hard days just knowing that one day I will miss those days… yes even the days when my two year old is running around the house like a crazy monster destroying everything in his path and my baby is keeping me up all night. Life really is to short to not enjoy every moment we have with our little peanuts and to soak it all in. To live in the moment.
I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happy holidays from the bottom of my heart. For the mothers out there who have lost a child, a family member or close friend, may you find comfort in knowing they are watching over you now and they are your angel. Thank you so much for following Sweet Little Peanut and I hope you will enjoy this journey with me as we continue to grow!
PS… we have gotten our pictures taken with the REAL Santa for the past 3 years and love them so much! The darling children’s boutique Oopsie Daisy along with Misty Lane Photography put together the perfect setting with the best looking Santa I have ever seen. No cheesy mall pictures and the best part is you set up an appointment and get to have a one-on-one session with Santa so no waiting in lines. This books out ever year in early November so keep it on your radar!
